Early 1950s

When the economy was reinvigorated at the beginning of the 1950s, the need for office furniture rose sharply in Germany.

This trend was recognised by the founding family who consequently switched the metalworking business to producing simple frames for office desks. From this point onwards, the company grew constantly until the required volume could no longer be produced at the original production premises.

In 1996, the company was absorbed into NWI by new shareholders.

Under the new management, the Kaizen process for optimising production processes was introduced for the first time. As a result of the consistent investment in employee know-how and production capacity, OMT became a market leader in the office desk system supplier sector. An impressive result, manifested in the expansion of production space to 20,000 m², which began in 2013.
