Sustainability

Responsibility for people and the environment.

Among other things, we have therefore opted for the use of renewable energy from biogas.
The modern controls on our machines and lighting ensure the use of electricity and materials based on needs to achieve a positive energy balance.
At the same time, our production is organised such that 98% of the waste left over from production processes is channelled back into the material cycle. We recover raw materials from surface technology using a special filter process. The efficiency of the systems has been greatly increased as a result.

OMT is certified to the environmental management standardDIN EN ISO 14001

Therefore, we have opted for the use of renewable energy from biogas to cover our energy needs.

SUSTAINABILITY

Preserving raw materials

OMT is conscious of its responsibility in handling valuable raw materials. In order to optimise consumption, we already bear in mind at the design stage that tube lengths should be used up as much as possible and pieces cut out of sheet metal should be nested. By using special nesting software to control the processing centres, our programmers also succeed in minimising waste metal at the machines.

The waste material from our operations is separated into single materials thus finding its way back into the raw material cycle.
Recovered metals are available for use in the material cycle. In Germany, 45 percent of new steel is already produced from steel waste that has been melted down; in the USA the proportion of waste is as much as 68 percent.
