With the economic upswing at the start of the 1950s, the demand for office furniture in Germany also increased rapidly.
A trend that was recognised by the founding family, who consequently converted the metal construction business to production of simple office table frames. From this point on, the business grew steadily. The simple table frames became height-adjustable, electrically driven frame systems. Laser technology and powder coating are essential procedures in today’s production process.
In 1996 the company was incorporated into NWI (Nordwest Industrie Group GmbH) by new shareholders. The new management introduced the Kaizen process to optimise production processes, and this continues to ensure innovative development today. Through consistent investment in employee know-how and production capacities, OMT has become a market leader among suppliers for office desk systems. An impressive record that has manifested in the expansion of the production area to 20,000 m² that began in 2013.
The commissioning of a further facility in 2018 has now brought the production area up to 54,000 m² and assisted by state-of-the-art technologies.
